Robert Lee Zufelt passed away from congestive heart failure on August 24, 2008 in American Fork Hospital after battling heart problems for over 20 years, he was surrounded by his family. He was born February 27, 1949 in Durango, LaPlata, Colorado to Lynn Zufelt and Nelsa Dean Nelson.He married Karla Jean Shipley on November 20, 1970 in Provo, Utah Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple on June 19, 1992.They are the parents of two daughters, Lesa Lynn and Robyn.He joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. Robert and Karla served together as Stake misionaries and also worked in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. He enjoyed camping, fishing, family reunions and spending time working in his shop.Survived by his loving wife Karla, father Lynn, stepmother Preal Zufelt, Pleasant Grove, Utah, two daughters, Lesa Lynn Covington and Robyn Peacock, five grandchildren, Austin Zufelt, Cole and Brady Covington, Kendra and Jorden Peacock, brother Jimmy Lynn (Debra) Zufelt, Mapleton, Utah, sisters, Karen Brekke, Henderson, Nevada, Lynda (TH) Poloni, Price, Utah. Preceded in death by his mother Nelsa and step father Floyd Stevens.Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 2:00 pm at the Cedar Fort LDS Chapel.
